William Mann "Bill" Mitchell, 70, passed away Friday, March 14, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
Bill was born June 28th 1943, in Wichita, KS, to Carroll and Fauna (Morris) Mitchell. He graduated from the Missouri Military Academy in Mexico, MO, in 1961, and then attended the University of Kansas. His professional life spanned many years and disciplines, though he had a passion for the banking industry and was employed by the FDIC for twelve years.
Bill is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Rosemary (Tanner) Mitchell; son Don Mitchell, married to Julie (Colehour) Mitchell, and their two children Jessica and Jeremy; son Tyler Mitchell, spouse Alejandra Findlay, and their three children Sally, Brooke, and Luke; brother Bob Mitchell and wife Charlotte, and by sister Rosemary and husband Ron Metcalf. Bill meant the world to so many, and will be remembered as a great teacher, mentor, and friend.
The immediate family will celebrate Bill's life privately at a later date.
