Mr. William Fish

William Loren Fish, 55, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 13, 2015 at Shawnee Gardens Nursing Center.  A graveside service will be 10:00am Saturday September 19, 2015 at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of William are suggested to Shawnee Gardens Nursing Center, 6416 Long Avenue, Shawnee, KS 66216.
William was born September 10, 1960 in Oil City, Pennsylvania.  He moved with his family to Shawnee and graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1978.  William was a kicker for the football team in high school and he also used this talent at Ft. Scott Community College after graduation.  William worked for Black and Veatch and then at Siemens Medical System.  He had a love for history especially the civil war.  He enjoyed discussing politics and spending time watching sports.  William had a great sense of humor and learned to never give up.
William was preceded in death by his parents, Loren W. Fish and Miriam Joan (Seth) Fish; and a niece, Elizabeth Fish.  He is survived by his longtime caregiver and dear friend, Kayla Anderson; sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Craig Congrove; brother and sister-in-law, Randall and Ellen Fish; aunts and uncles and their spouses: Jerry and Shirley Seth, Lois and Lon Cowan, Susie and Bob Teriberry, Lisa and Mark Causgrove; nieces, nephews and their spouses:  Nichole and Justin Honeywell, Lauren and Brandon Box and Randall “RJ” Fish; great niece and nephews:  Adelyn Honeywell, Aiden Honeywell, and Emmitt Box and many cousins.
William’s family would like to give a special thanks to the caregivers at Shawnee Gardens for the wonderful care that they gave to him while he was there.
