Mr. William Fleming

William "Bill" Aldridge Fleming, 63, died Wednesday, March 21, 2007.

Bill was born Sept. 19, 1943, in Chicago, Ill., to William Fleming and Helen Aldridge Fleming. The family moved to Topeka, Kan., where he attended grade school and graduated from Topeka High School and later attended Washburn University. His sales career began at an early age, having worked for Goodyear, Martin Tractor, Allis Chalmers and Bowman Distribution, and was a district manager for Kar Products. Bill received numerous awards as a result of his fantastic sales force.
His leisure passions were golf, the 19th hole, football and NASCAR, and he had been a member of the Texas Cross Country Racing Association, racing dirt bikes in the "over 50" class. Bill's greatest accomplishments were his wonderful family and his ability to call so many people "my friend."

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Helen Fleming; wife, Sandra Winans Fleming; and wife, Patricia Louise Jennings Vaughn Fleming.

Survivors include his wife, Connie Clinkenbeard Fleming; daughters, Wendi Fleming Murphy of Kansas City, Mo., and Lisa Vaughn Messenger and husband, Gail, of Overland Park, Kan.; sons, Rick Vaughn and wife, Amy, and Brett Vaughn and wife, Becky, of Olathe, Kan.; grandchildren, Ricky, Justin, Brooke, Alex, Courtney, Madison, Jacob and Jessica; sisters, Patricia Fleming of Greenbay, Wis., Joanne Teschke of Orland Park, Ill., Nancy Brewster and husband, Bill, of Sunrise Beach, Mo., and Marj Schlesselman and husband, Jim, of Long Beach, Calif.; Connie's son, Brian Clinkenbeard, and his children, Christopher and Leah, of Grapevine; Connie's daughter, Jan Clinkenbeard Andrew and husband, John, and their children, David, Benjamin and Emily; 13 nieces and nephews; and many beloved friends.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 26 at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 13145 S. Black Bob Rd, Olathe, Kan. Burial in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, March 25 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf.
