William Gregory

September 9, 1935 — August 17, 2017

William Joseph “Greg” Gregory, age 81, beloved husband, father and grandfather waved goodbye to family and friends on August 17, 2017, after a long and valiant battle with Leukemia.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 AM at Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church on Saturday, August 19, 2017, with a private entombment at Johnson County Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Greg was born on September 9, 1935 in St. Louis, Missouri to Benjamin and Ellen (Dotty) Gregory.  After graduating from high school in Cuba, MO, Greg moved to St. Louis, MO and attended Washington University before serving in the US Army in Korea.

After his military service, Greg attended the University of Missouri where he received his BSBA and MBA degrees in Accounting and Business.  He was a member of the Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity and the Beta Gamma Sigma Honorary Fraternity.

After college, he became a Certified Public Accountant and was employed at Peat Marwick Mitchell and was a lifelong member of the American Institute of CPA’s and the Institute for Management Accountants.

From 1961 - 1968, he was employed by Armco Steel in Kansas City and Middletown, Ohio.  In 1968, he joined Turner Uni-Drive in Kansas City and continued working until the time of his death.  He was owner of Turner Uni-Drive, a manufacturer of gear boxes for large industrial equipment.

Greg was a devoted husband and best friend to his wife Sandra for 55 years.  He is also survived by his two sons, Robert and his wife Shauna of Leawood, KS, and James and his wife Jane of Overland Park, KS.  He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Sarah, Will, Lauren, and Drew.  Other survivors include two brothers, Ralph Gregory of El Paso, TX, and Earl Gregory of St. Louis, MO and several nieces and nephews.  A brother and sister preceded him in death.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Warm Fuzzy’s, 12501 NW County Rd 14002, Drexel, MO 64742, or the Humane Society of Kansas City, their Ray of Hope Program.
