William Bruce Harmon, 74, Overland Park, KS died Dec. 10, 2006 at St. Joseph Medical Center from an aggressive form of cancer.
Bill was born February 11, 1932 to Kenneth and Dorothy Harmon in Topeka, KS. He received a bachelor?s degree in English from the University of Kansas in the early 1950?s. Bill was a supply sergeant and military police in the Kansas National Guard to support himself in his college years. Bill enjoyed a successful career in marketing, advertising and public relations, his primary account with the Kansas City Chiefs. He also utilized his marketing expertise promoting and raising funds for the March of Dimes via the Galaxy event. In his later years, he earned a real-estate license and enjoyed selling homes for Reece and Nichols. An avid Chiefs fan, he held season tickets from the time the Chiefs moved to KC till the end of his life. He enjoyed attending volleyball matches, soccer games, dance recitals and any other grandchild-related event. Pops was a loving, supportive father and grandfather whose highest priority was his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Pops (as he was affectionately known) is survived by a loving family. Tracy (oldest daughter) and husband Blaine Scott, and granddaughter Sara Cayleigh; Craig (middle son) and wife Robyn Harmon, and grandchildren Andrew, Jessica, and Hannah; Shane (youngest son) and wife Latisha Harmon, and grandchildren Gavin and Niles. He is also survived by Brother Don Harmon (Joyce), Sisters Joyce Hemme (Don) and Sherry Praeger (Ralph) and many nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Pops untimely death devastated us all, and he will be sorely missed.
