WILLIAM D. (BILL) KNAPP
William D. (Bill) Knapp was born May 11, 1939 in Leeper, Mo. Bill attended school in Butler, Mo., graduating in 1957. He enlisted in the Army in 1958, serving in Germany and Alabama. Upon his discharge, Bill worked at Hallmark Cards while attending college at UMKC. Bill was a salesman in the paper distribution business for over 30 years working for various companies; retiring from Nationwide in 2001. Bill was always "customer oriented" and loved his job. Bill enjoyed retirement, spending his time playing golf, occasional fishing outings with friends at Taneycomo and Lake of the Ozarks, and playing poker at the casinos. He leaves his ex-wife, Donna Knapp of Overland Park, KS, a good woman, and daughters Debra MacMillan, Grandview, Mo, and Denise Thomas (Mark Thomas) Overland Park, KS. Grandchildren Don and Stuart MacMillan, Rachel Kai (Harrison), Jake and Sam Thomas. Sisters Jaqueline Diehl (Rex Diehl), Schell City, MO, and Jerri Kinzle, Gladstone, MO. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews and lots of good friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 21st at D.W. Newcomer's Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, O.P., KS at 1:00, visitation will begin a hour prior to the service, also in the chapel. Burial will be immediately following at Oak Hill Cemetery (715 E. Mills St.) in Butler, Mo. Arrangements: D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 913-451-1860.
