William M. Clifton, 82, of Overland Park, KS passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at St. Luke’s South Hospital. Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 8th at First Baptist Church of Overland Park, 8200 W. 96th Street, Overland Park, KS 66212 (913) 642-3478. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to First Baptist Church of Overland Park in memory of William M. Clifton.
Bill was born on August 19, 1927 in Dennison, TX. He moved to Kansas City, KS in his teens and graduated from Rosedale High School in 1945. He served in the Armed Forces in Japan and he also served in the Korean War as a Marine. Bill belonged to the Order of Demolays and the Abdallah Shrine of Kansas City. He worked for Sweet Lumber Company for 43 years.
Bill is survived by his wife, Mildred Clifton of the home; daughter, Cynthia Bogatie, Olathe, KS; three grandchildren, Raeanna Williams, Tallahassee, FL, Rachelle Brinkman, Overland Park, KS and Ryan Bogatie, Wichita, KS; four great grandchildren; nephew, Paul Odle and his wife, Joyce, Olathe, KS; and two great nephews, Chris Odle, Lee’s Summit, MO and Don Hall, of CA.
