William E. Merkel, age 83 of Prairie Village, Kansas passed away on Monday January 8, 2007 at St. Luke's South Hospital.
Bill was born on August 28, 1923 in Highland, Kansas. He was a Sales Representative for over 50 years and traveled the mid-western states. Bill was an avid golfer and a long-time member of Brookridge Country Club. A World War II veteran of Patton's army, 87th Infantry Division, Bill was the recipient of 3 Bronze Battle Stars and a Rifle Expert marksmanship badge.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Lorene Merkel, daughter Linda Underwood, and son Steve Merkel. In-laws include; Ralph Underwood, Brandy Merkel and grandchildren Chris Blackburn, Gia Rishmany and Gracie Rishmany.
