June 10, 1952 — September 10, 2017

A beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, veteran, and friend, William Lindsay Meyer died surrounded by family in Kansas City on Sunday, September 10 after a brave battle with brain cancer. He was born on June 10, 1952 in Seattle to Lola Elaine and William Theodore “Bill” Meyer. After becoming an Eagle Scout in ninth grade, he graduated from Roosevelt High School and Shoreline Community College, and went on to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps as a staff sergeant and in the U.S. Army as a master sergeant. He spent his nearly 30-year sales and marketing career with Unitog and MarketShare Group. Lindsay was endowed with a kind, gentle soul and renowned for his selflessness, sense of humor, and lighthearted spirit even until the very end. He was a dedicated husband, a devoted father, and a good man; he will be remembered for his unmatched character and unselfish love for others. Lindsay was passionate about fishing, football, chardonnay, and his favorite hangout, Freddy T’s, but above all else, he treasured his family. He will be missed always by his loving family and many friends. Lindsay leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Helen, and their children, Julie Anne and William Leo “Bill”. He is also survived by his sister, Diane (William Dale Pettapiece), and nephew, William Darren Pettapiece.
