William Newman

William “Warren” Newman passed away May 30, 2018 he was born May 27, 1937 in Winfield, KS to Merlin J and Elois Newman. He attended Pittsburg State University where he met his wife and earned a Degree in Civil Engineering. Warren married Sherry Donaldson on Jan 31, 1960. He was 1st Lieutenant in the army at Fort Carson, Colorado and retired as a Captain. He worked for General Motors for 42 years.

Warren was devoted to his family and loved to coach kids in sports.  He coached his son Mike in football, basketball, and baseball.  He coached his daughter Heather in basketball and softball. Many charities were blessed by his willingness to give, especially his wanting to sponsor children, 2 boys from the Philippines.

Warren took pride with his grandchildren Melissa, Marsha, Joel and great-grandchildren Augustus Eck, Annie Eck, and Jackson Gibson. Survivors include his wife, Sherry Newman; son, Michael Newman; daughter, Heather Button; 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
