William Westfall, age 65, of Overland Park, KS passed away peacefully on September 12, 2011 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. He was born on June 19, 1946 in KCK, the son of Jean (Czech) and Robert Westfall.
Bill was one of five children. He married Rachel Mayes on October 11, 1980 in Overland Park, KS. Born to this union are three children. He was a graduate of Shawnee Mission North and a proud Eagle Scout. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and a life-long member of the American Legion Post 327. He was retired after 32 years of service with Kansas Gas Service as a Pressure Technician. Bill loved his grandchildren; enjoyed Harleys, and all outdoor activities.
William will be remembered by his loving wife and their children John F. Hulse (Letitia), Delaine A. Renko (Todd) and Tara Westfall. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Dakota, Isabella and Charlotte Hulse; Ava and Mack Renko; 3 brothers, Robert, Mike and Dennis and 1 sister, Carolyn; and father-in-law John Ed Mayes.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 10100 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66212. Following the service, a celebration of life reception will be held from 3:00-5:00 P.M. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1100 Pennsylvania Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64105.
