William “Bill” Coomer, a beloved grandfather, father, son, brother, uncle and friend of many, unexpectedly passed away on November 27, 2022, at the age of 83.
Bill is survived by 2 sons, Chuck Coomer of Tampa, FL, Bret Coomer of Fairfield, OH, his sister Katie Bray of Lexington, KY, his brother Troy “TA” Coomer, Jr. of Carlisle, OH and 2 grandchildren, David “Aaron” Coomer of Fairfield, OH & Cody Dean Coomer of West Chester OH.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice Emerick, his parents, Troy A Coomer, Sr. and Ruby Ernestine Cundiff, and a son, Kenneth Dean Coomer.
Bill was born in Elkatawa, KY on July 17, 1939. He graduated from Lemon Monroe High School in 1957 and retired from Global Ground Support as an Executor of Service and Warranty. Bill served our country in the Air Force branch of the military.
Bill’s top passions were billiards and woodturning, which in both was extremely skilled and very accomplished. He was a mentor to many that aspired to do either, a champion pool player and taught classes to students in woodturning. He also loved to fish when he could and especially enjoyed it with the boys of the family. Bill was a man of faith and exampled that through his life choices. He will be deeply missed and forever loved by his friends, family, and all who know him.
A funeral service is scheduled for 12:00 PM on Thursday, 12/08/2022, with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM at Johnson County Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, KS 66210.
