Marvin William Johnson, age 74, of Overland Park, KS, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Menorah Medical Center. Visitation will be from 1-2:45 p.m., on Monday, April 12th, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. Graveside services will be 3 p.m., on Monday, in Johnson County Memorial Gardens, Overland Park, KS, following the visitation. Marvin was born on September 16, 1935, in Walnut Ridge, AR. He married Clara Burrow on September 15, 1962. He was a Master Electrical Engineer. Marvin worked as a movie projectionist, Fairbanks Morse, The Atomic Energy Commission, Bendix Corp., The State of Kansas; and owned and operated REACH Service Company. He was an amateur radio operator and a collector of HO Gauge Trains. Marvin was preceded in death by his father, Oral M. Johnson, and his mother, Patricia C. Kopp. He is survived by his wife, Clara (Burrow) Johnson; son, James M. Johnson; daughter, Kimberly C. (Johnson) Lynn; son-in-law, Richard J. Lynn; grandchildren: Sparkle, Kristle, Ricky and Joey Lynn; brother, Wayne (Vivian) Johnson; sisters, Bonita (Rick) Ritter, Linda (James) Coney, Orleana (Al) Rogers, and Beth (Pat) McGraw.
