William Jule Garrett Crews, 92, Kansas City, Missouri, passed away June 18, 2016. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. followed by Funeral Service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22 at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, Kansas. Burial will be at Higginsville Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Willie was born February 23, 1924 in Clinton, Missouri. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943-1946 during World War II.
He is survived by: his loving wife of 68 years, Marian Crews; sister, Shirley Marshall of Brownsville, TX; daughter, Sharon Ford; and sons, Garrett (Debbie) and Michael (Marcia) Crews. He leaves behind 10 grandchildren: Jennifer McBrayer; Amy Ford; Sheila (Ray) Schulz; Deanna (Ed) Schulz; Daniel (Geri) Ford; Karianne (Heath) Nimmo; Chris (Crystal) Crews; Todd Crews; Lyndsey (Josh) Vanderpool; Ryan Crews; Sergio Castro; Fernando Castro; and Karina Castro. Twelve (12) great grandchildren will cherish his memory: Marla Martin; Paige Martin; Vanessa Nimmo; Catherine Ford; Brynton Crews; Landon Crews; Ethan Vanderpool; Jordan Vanderpool; Hudson Vanderpool; Emmalee Schulz; Teagan Vanderpool; John Schulz; Aubrey Schulz; Elliana Vanderpool; and Ian Castro.
