Wilma Faye Rush, 79, of Kansas City, MO, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2008 peacefully at home.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 31st at D. W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, KS with burial following in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 30th from 6:00 ? 8:00 p.m. at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Wilma?s name be made to the American Heart Association, 6800 West 93rd Street, Overland Park, Kansas 66212.
Faye was born April 19, 1929 to Dick and Ruth Dennis or Urich, MO. Her love of fashion and design led her to collect vintage clothes and costumes. A passionate grandmother, insightful counselor, and steadfast friend, she will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 48 years, Junior R. Rush; and a son, Richard E. Rush. Faye is survived by her sons, Dennis W. Rush of Farley, MO and Michael L. Rush of Kansas City, MO; 7 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
