Winifred "WC" Spradling, age 82, of Louisburg, KS passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2012. He was born on August 15, 1930 in Poplar Bluff, MO, the son of Bertha Ellen (Adams) and Robert Dewey Spradling. WC served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. WC married Eugenia Pritchard on August 17, 1950 in Overland Park, KS; they recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary together. WC was a member of Community Full Gospel Church of Paola, KS and loved the Lord with all of his heart. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Eugenia Spradling, of the home; daughters, Cheryl (Terry) Monteer of Louisburg, KS, Denise (William) Eckert of Fontana, KS; son, JR (Lisa) Spradling of Paola, KS; daughter, Brenda Spradling of Louisburg, KS; grandchildren, Jeffrey Casida, Justin (Linda) Eckert, Micah Eckert, Ryan Peck, Jessica Peck, Hannah Spradling, Laura Spradling, Brett Spradling; 9 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 27, 2012 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to WC's memorial fund and sent in care of the funeral home.
